covered many miles today, chasing the light ... ended up in a classic location. the RRR decided to blend in ....   keep the spot light on the landscape..

doug - FYI, this was shot at artist point.

The spur road to Artist's Point (the 9th stop along the Valley Drive) rises a little to the edge of an escarpment that offers a fine panorama of the central part of Monument Valley. The nearest peaks in view are (clockwise), Merrick Butte, East Mitten Butte, Spearhead Mesa, Rain God Mesa, Cly Butte and Elephant Butte, with other more distant cliffs and pinnacles on most sides. Only the northeastern horizon is empty, as in this direction the Navajo Reservation is completely flat for some 20 miles, as far as the south edge of Cedar Mesa.
