still trying to tweak my lighting technique for long awaited (for me anyways), portrait series. asked a friend of a friend to pose / i really like the first portrait. she took direction very well. i was looking for emotion (as ian described it). second image is to prove she has a nice smile. thanks brandi.

yeah the first one is haunting for sure definitely has a Paris 1950's Chet Baker music vibe to it
I have that music by the way in my personal collection
I like the shot, I like the lighting and cropping. I don't know who she is, but she sure has emotion.
Paris in the 50's is an astute observation... a period so far removed from a complex environment where the slightest mention of "Paris" evokes an image of "blonde" - Paris was never blonde, never will be and these images place a sharp exclamation on that reality
Although from different places, but this perception is consistent, which is relatively rare point!
