downtown vancouver

ok, just a little fun in the spirit of the impending winter olympics. i ran into a friend downtown this aft, so we did a quick portrait on the steps of the vancouver art gallery. i also had fun capturing a tourist shooting a self portrait in front of the olympic clock. starting to feel the oylmpic energy..

vancouver, gastown

this is what i came up with today. a long stroll about chinatown, gastown, and downtown, and yaletown, and... well, just a lot of walking. i've shot those 'sails' before at canada place, so it may look like a retread, but it's fresh off the press. the light / balance has to be spot on, and tonight i waited until it was. my legs are a little sore, but i'm happy with these 2 shots... and seated, having a pop....

with the warm, sunny weather this afternoon, you could just feel this bud getting ready to burst into bloom

fragrance of flowers

OH NO, WALKER'S TAKIN' PICTURES OF FLOWERS AGAIN!
well, i had to.... it's been warm, and i think things are a little ahead this year. these are from stanley park, shot this afternoon. the winter Olympic city might be praying for snow, but i think anyone is happy to see flowers blooming.

vancouver bc

i received a message from a fellow flat lander today / said she was checking out my blog and was inspired (and she's a photographer to boot). that kinda inspired me, so i got out and had a look around. lots of fun shooting this location in english bay for an hour or two. i was thinking black & white all the way, but kinda like the colour version. so..... to get the conversation started / let me know your preference. thxs. !

prospect point, vancouver bc

a nice day to strap on the boots, and hit the trail up to prospect point in stanley park. luckily, it's down hill all the way home. i like the results / sticking with the duo tone (B&W), to shake my brain up a bit...

let it rain..

big time soaker this week on the west coast. have to keep the camera pointing down, so this is how i saw the drift wood on a beach at stanley park. low, diffuse light makes for vibrant colours.....

stanley park forest

today was calm, cloudy, and mild. i hit the forest, as the colours really perform under this type of diffuse lighting. for the photography crowd, most of these images were exposed for 2 and a half, to 3 minutes. they were shot late in the day / almost dark to the eye.

the smells were wonderful, it was quiet, and i saw a bald eagle gliding between the trees.
