stanley park forest

today was calm, cloudy, and mild. i hit the forest, as the colours really perform under this type of diffuse lighting. for the photography crowd, most of these images were exposed for 2 and a half, to 3 minutes. they were shot late in the day / almost dark to the eye.

the smells were wonderful, it was quiet, and i saw a bald eagle gliding between the trees.

Shame on you! When your friend (cm) told me to take a look at your photos I had so much to do. Instead, I found myself entrapped by your website. I've just spent a couple of hours of my work morning discovering and savouring the wonderful images there. Now, thanks to you and your camera, this cold, damp January morning has been transformed into other times and places. I've strolled in Stanley Park and Vancouver in all kinds of wonderful weather, smelled and felt the air, seen urban and rural architecture and wildlife in different seasons, visited old homesteads and prairie landscapes, and gazed at wonderful faces (Jim, Joe, Kelly, Corbis, the ‘old gal in the perfect light,' the duck. . .) Amazing images, and stories to go with them! I really love the way you “see.” With fresh and appreciative eyes.
So, even though the lure of your photographs has kept me from my own work, thank-you for sharing your gifts and talents with me. I’ll be back. le

thxs le, i can live with that kind of shame. ironically, i shoot for this blog to avoid any type of work that I have to get done (and i'm pretty good at that / avoiding work that is). so hopefully when you need a break from your daily tasks / i'll have something that moves the spirit. or....... maybe just grab a good cup of joe. but i'll keep on shootin'.. thxs for you comment, and keep checking in.

cj, when you attempt, don't forget the cable release, and lock the mirror up. import straight to pro tools and doctor up.
