last week i was charged with the task to pick up my mom at the bus stop. seemed that a few people thought i would forget. so this is a shot of my mom waiting for me / i sent it to my sister as a bit of a joke.
i came across this today. it was my first real job - portrait of john neville, artistic director of the stratford festival. i was hired by saturday night magazine to shoot this at his home in southern ontario (i was living in toronto at the time). my good friend and ryerson mate ian crylser was my assistant. funny thing - this is the style of photography i was known for, and the type of work i wanted to shoot. how did i go from this to shooting landscapes and dropping in skies??
well, back to the ego thing. check out small profile by clicking on link and going to "focus on canadians". http://www.photolife.com/currentnewsletter.php
i have driven by this "bus for sale" ( in the ditch off #48 at odessa), many times over the last few years. finally stopped the truck, dusted off the camera, and spent a half hr or so / taking pictures. more later.
this is a retread, as clay the dentist would say. i took this last fall for the couple next door. i had walked by these bikes leaning on their shed everyday, and thought i should take a shot of them. turned out to be a birthday gift.
being from a railway family, i'm always attracted to the track. i worked on the section for a few summers between school, but have wondered down the rails many times. this is how i saw the track today. (it's CNR).
not a lot of color in the land right now. i saw this on my walk on the main beach to get my paper and juice. was told they had a winter festival, and this is the remains of an art project. looks like rubber cloves and colored water. kinda cool.
had a fun shoot with a small crew, and a few 'models', they did a really good job. a little out of character from the other images / this is the work stuff.
