cool day in the desert. headed up route 66 to Oatman, a historic mining town. stopped to take this shot of the RRR among the "teddybear" cholla. now i know why they are also called "jumping cholla". Ouch!

as described on the web: "The full moon tonight is called a "Super Perigee Moon" since it is at its closest to Earth in 2011. The last full moon so big and close to Earth occurred in March of 1993".
 this is how i saw it from a perch at Lake Havasu City..

sat down with the roaming red rocker and had a closer look at the Monument Valley shoot. thought this one was a keeper.

covered many miles today, chasing the light ... ended up in a classic location. the RRR decided to blend in ....   keep the spot light on the landscape..

had a little "situation", crossing border into Texas from Oklahoma. everything got settled. (amazing how far a pil can get ya).

Look closely .. the roaming red rocker is grooving at Monument Rocks, Kansas... chalk pyramids baby!

Day 1, Bismark North Dakota. calling for winter storm tomorrow. might stay put, and take the roaming red rocker to Menards to see the family...

this is truly the last shot from my Mexican adventure / a ride back to the hinterland in a private jet. it was groovy ...... as were all the bus trips..
so it is.........

interesting way to end MY winter in Mexico. 1st class bus broke down half way between Barra and PV. transferred to a (WTF)? class bus. hot, rough, no bathroom. this is a shot of my traveling companions at the very back of the wagon..

i'm very happy with this image from today. i hooked up with a local to take me off the beaten path. we went to a farm / asked the foreman if i could take some shots. here is the result.

the golf pro took me for a scout of the "Casa Club Campo de Golf at Isla Navidad. quite an impressive area, which includes the Grand Bay Hotel. i could easily spend a couple of weeks shooting the properties....

this view is from Melaque. personally, i like the subtle color.

the sun seems to set every night here in Barra.

i'll call this 'wall of water'. the wind was up this afternoon... . i was on the beach with a camera .. and the lads were kite boarding.... great fun..

Sunset at Barra de Navidad didn't look too promising last night. i waited it out, and took this shot looking north about 10 minutes after the sun disappeared.

 walking home on the beach, thought i'd try a self portrait. looks like the kids got a kick out of that notion.

my shot from today ..  true to the blog.. what i see, and how i see it.

i'll call this "last chair standing". i walked down to the beach at Barra de Navidad late this afternoon to watch the sunset. by that time, the guys were folding up the chairs and umbrellas for the day. i asked if this chair could remain standing for a few quick shots. and that's that.... i like it...

interesting how the surf board is reflecting light back onto the wave. not only is the kid providing great action.. he's lighting the shot as well..... that's hard talent to find...

got up to see the sunrise over the ocean. nothing special, so i took a little stroll around town. very happy to come across this location.

caught this wayward flower floating in the pool today..

my interpretation of the beach yesterday. the waves were really pounding around sunset.

as far as sunsets go .. i like this one. shot half way between Barra de Navidad, and Melaque.
