covered many miles today, chasing the light ... ended up in a classic location. the RRR decided to blend in .... keep the spot light on the landscape..
The spur road to Artist's Point (the 9th stop along the Valley Drive) rises a little to the edge of an escarpment that offers a fine panorama of the central part of Monument Valley. The nearest peaks in view are (clockwise), Merrick Butte, East Mitten Butte, Spearhead Mesa, Rain God Mesa, Cly Butte and Elephant Butte, with other more distant cliffs and pinnacles on most sides. Only the northeastern horizon is empty, as in this direction the Navajo Reservation is completely flat for some 20 miles, as far as the south edge of Cedar Mesa.
when are you back in the country? love the RRR pics. We are moving the end of the month so look for the posting of the move. hope you'll come visit. Keep the pics coming, that way I can feel like I am somewhere warm!! DD
Very good information on your photo Doug--obviously you have done your research--you make us happy with the accounts of your travels. Easy to sit in the chair and travel through your efforts and pictures. cw
