i shot this portrait of a fisherman on the dock at granville island. bought a few lbs of shrimp / i'll let you know how they cook up. he was a nice guy/looked like he could have been a rigger in saskatchewan.

Yum, shrimp! I have to ask, do you have a fisheye lens? I've been debating getting one, but wanted your opinion.

yes, i have a fisheye. no, i don't recommend. unless you are a pro, but then you just rent for the project.(or just rent no matter who you are, i suppose). not to sound my age, but 'now a days', these relatively inexpensive wide angle zoom lens seem to be the ticket. say a 17-40, or 14-whatever.... plenty wide and lots of fun.(assuming you shoot with a full size sensor). this shot was at 17mm, and i distorted on purpose. but it could be shot with the same glass with little or no crank. hope this helps.
