i'm very happy with this image from today. i hooked up with a local to take me off the beaten path. we went to a farm / asked the foreman if i could take some shots. here is the result.

a glimpse of the clubhouse from the back nine at Casa Club Campo de Golf / Isla Navidad MX.

the golf pro took me for a scout of the "Casa Club Campo de Golf at Isla Navidad. quite an impressive area, which includes the Grand Bay Hotel. i could easily spend a couple of weeks shooting the properties....

this view is from Melaque. personally, i like the subtle color.

the sun seems to set every night here in Barra.

i'll call this 'wall of water'. the wind was up this afternoon... . i was on the beach with a camera .. and the lads were kite boarding.... great fun..

Sunset at Barra de Navidad didn't look too promising last night. i waited it out, and took this shot looking north about 10 minutes after the sun disappeared.

 walking home on the beach, thought i'd try a self portrait. looks like the kids got a kick out of that notion.

my shot from today ..  true to the blog.. what i see, and how i see it.

i'll call this "last chair standing". i walked down to the beach at Barra de Navidad late this afternoon to watch the sunset. by that time, the guys were folding up the chairs and umbrellas for the day. i asked if this chair could remain standing for a few quick shots. and that's that.... i like it...

interesting how the surf board is reflecting light back onto the wave. not only is the kid providing great action.. he's lighting the shot as well..... that's hard talent to find...

got up to see the sunrise over the ocean. nothing special, so i took a little stroll around town. very happy to come across this location.

caught this wayward flower floating in the pool today..

humm ... palm trees and a sunset / that's weird??

my interpretation of the beach yesterday. the waves were really pounding around sunset.

as far as sunsets go .. i like this one. shot half way between Barra de Navidad, and Melaque.

Melaque surf action this evening.... the boys were going hard..

the neighbourhood roosters are getting me up early, so i was able to catch the moon setting in the west.

this is for the sunset crowd.

no real story. i just like it....

great fun shooting this.. i was walking by as the catch was coming in. the little guy (behind the octopus on the left), was helping out. i asked to take his photo.. all agreed, and then he got shy real quick. so dad took over. i think it captured the moment (for me any way).

i met these 2 on a dusty bus trip up the coast... they were nice enough to let me shoot a portrait. i call it, 'what happens in mexico, stays in mexico'. errr.. ok..... they're friends from canada.... but, it was on a bus trip, not real dusty .... but it was bumpy.... and, they were still nice to let me take a shot.

this young fellow found his fishing line tangled up on the roof.... we've all been there....

i'm not really keen on this type of shot, but what made it interesting was i shot it from the deck, while watching the ctv news from regina. worlds apart, but errily connected.

this is my take on a local plant, used to make a local beverage. think it's time for one.....
